Even from the comfort of your own home — with a simple click — you can help children gain access to education, feed hungry dogs and cats, and help conserve the manta ray population in Australia. There are many ways we can help charities and support good causes. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, right now all it takes is just one click.

Cancelling flight tickets, working from home or downloading Tiktok because of boredom is definitely not ideal — it’s a bummer! Big music festivals, (supposedly) vibrant social events, and conferences have all been place on a halt due to the novel coronavirus. Surprisingly, the current circumstance has also made people more kinder to themselves and others!

There has been a sudden surge in initiatives dedicated to combat, raise awareness and funding on global issues like cancer, the environment, and refugees. However since not everyone has the time or capacity to start large fundraising projects there are still many ways you can make a big difference! Even with only a few minutes of your day. As you scroll through this article, you will be able to find a list of sites where all you have to do is CLICK and it will automatically donate a dollar or grain of rice.

These are the six easiest ways you can contribute and make a difference — save the links on your Bookmark Bar and click on it everyday while you wait for your Netflix episode to load or for the microwave to heat your popcorn and even while waiting for your Zoom partner.

  1. Free The Ocean

Answer a daily trivia question and each correct answer pays for a piece of plastic to be removed from the water. The site also funds ocean clean-up groups to “free the ocean of plastic.” While you’re on the site, you can also check out their savvy eco-friendly shopping section where you can view a variety of products that’s good for both you and the environment.

2. Brother Earth

From tree planting activities in China and reforestation in Slovakia, to conserving the manta ray population in Australia, you can click “Donate” on whichever movement you wish to support and the company will donate 1 yen per click on your behalf. It doesn’t sound much however you do know what happens when lots of people donate a little, right?

3. The Hunger Site

If you are passionate on tackling the many problems we face globally at once, this is the perfect site! The Hunger Site helps fundraise and support 10 different global causes all at once. Click to give support to cancer, diabetes, literacy, autism, wildlife, and hunger- related charities!

Here’s how it works: If you click to donate to the women with breast cancer, the site will allocate sponsors who will fund mammograms and support the women in need. Together they have donated more than $60 million to the causes you care about and have funded an impressive 26,727 mammograms for women. What are you waiting for? Start clicking!

4. Free Rice

Free Rice is part of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) initiative and if you are competitive, generous, and want to learn, then this is a great site for you as it offers a range of quizzes that tests your knowledge on English vocabulary, world capitals, and even chemical symbols! For every right answer, the sponsors sends an equivalent of 10 grains of rice to the World Food Programme to feed the hungry. Ultimately, saving and changing lives. Plus, the games are super addictive so have fun while you’re at it!

4. Arab.org

The site is managed by a Lebanese social enterprise and is dedicated in raising funds to support five United Nations-approved charities! With your click, they deliver support to people ravaged by the war, ensure health, security & education to children in the Arab world, and provide support to troubled Palestinian families.

5. Free Kibble

Not a big fan of trivia questions? No worries — even if you answer the question wrong, Free Kibble will still donate pet food to vulnerable dogs and cats. Be sure to stay a little longer as you can also help provide cat litter in animal shelters!

Small acts can make big impacts! With the great access to technology we have today, we have the power to put those into good use. Even from the comfort of your own home, you can help support a variety of causes and all it takes is just one click.
